Phillip Gardner, a sportswriter for the Gaston Gazette had a couple of nice things to say about the Red Raider game versus Ashbrook the other night.
A little love offering perhaps for the gushiness expressed for Gastonia schools over the last several years perhaps?
Who knows?
Don’t like paying $5 to park in the neighborhood? COME EARLY and tailgate ! If you wrote more stuff about Belmont area sports in a more loving tone, like what is usually reserved for Forestview and Ashbrook, maybe someone would let young Mr. Gardner park for free.
NOT !
Really, to be fair, we think Mr. Gardner does a wonderful job of covering sports in Gaston County. He makes an effort to attend the games, and get a feel for the players and coaches in his articles.
A little love goes a long way in selling papers…
okaaay, so, you are saying that the Gazette doesn’t write about Belmont area BECAUSE of the criticism by this blog site?
yeah, ok.
( see our smiles ?? )
Guess our visitors to Belmont prove our point. We will do a better job not poking the Gazette for our more sensitive folks.
BTW, did you see the big write up in the Gazette about the Belmont Middle School girls softball team winning their 2nd consecutive regular season title. It got a graphic on the Belmont Front Porch at least.
Maybe the reason you feel you need to write “If you wrote more stuff about Belmont area sports in a more loving tone, like what is usually reserved for Forestview and Ashbrook” (by the way…I don’t agree at alll with the statement) is not because of Phillip Gardner, but because of the constant attacks on the Gazette and Phillip Garnder in general by the sports writers on this website. Remember.. treat people the way you want to be treated! I say it’s time to grow up, quit the pity trip and the Gazette bashing and continue tto do what you do best… toot SP’s horn on this site for your hometown to see.
