Riversweep, the annual clean-up event of Lake Wylie’s 325 mile shoreline, will be held
on Saturday, October 7th, from 8 AM to 12 PM.
Volunteers can pre-register on-line now at http://www.lakewylieriversweep.com to
help at one of the 15 Riversweep site locations around Lake Wylie
Walk-up volunteers can register at the site they select the morning of the event.
Boat owners are needed to serve as Boat Captains to shuttle volunteers who
retrieve the trash and debris from the shoreline; pontoon boats are particularly
useful. Other volunteers help at the sites to offload the debris as it comes in.
Wear comfortable, old clothing, closed-toe shoes that can get wet and muddy, a
hat or sun visor and sunscreen
Riversweep Site Captains will distribute bottled water, work gloves, and trash
bags to their volunteers.
If you have questions about the pre-registration process, please e-mail the
Registrar at riversweep@catawbariverkeeper.org
