Hey Dude! Lets not jump to any conclusions about who may or may not be responsible for the high prices of homes in Belmont or the increased tax rates. I do not feel our brothers and sisters from the north are alone in all these high cotton real estate deals going on around town, greed has alot to do with it and or up-bringing. All Im saying is I feel in the end many will suffer for the actions of a select few. So folks before you decide to list you home on the market think about your town and what may become of your town if you decide to jump on the High Cotton real estate express. Until next time this is J.D Saying I’LL see ya at the Cat Pharm and GO BIG RED!!!
jd. u should run for mayour and get them yankees out.
Yes a new soccer field would be nice and Im sure the amount of funding you are suggesting would take care of the cost. 1,000,000 WOW!!!. Lets talk about the homes across the way. I dont think the view of Belmont central has anything to do with those fine homes sitting empty and no one buying no one from Belmont that is. Most of the folks buying homes in our fine town are not from our fine town. As a matter of fact the majority are not from the great state of North Carolina. Thanks to some of the local and not so local real estate companys one in particular from Mt. Holly many are getting hit harder and harder on property value taxes that is if they can even find a home they can afford to purchase in the town they once called home. Maybe its time to sit back and re evaluate the meaning of the term small town and decide if we want this rapid growth of our town to put an end to our town, to put an end to the term small town. Until the next time , unless you catch me at the Cat Pharm, If your not from here you may not know where that is but Im sure any local could point you in the right direction. This is J.D HOWE saying to all long days and plesant nights. GO BIG RED!!!!!
The land at Belmont Central could make a nice soccer facility. If they used the land where the current field is and included the land where the little league field is it could provide a regulation size soccer field if it ran perpendicular to current field. They could also cover it with the artificial turf that is on all Buncombe county school fields so they would be basically maintenance free. You would not even have to paint the lines since they too are permanent. Butch Adams did do a lot to help improve the field, but if you don’t have a wide field to practice on it prohibits meaningful practices to simulate game situations. It is difficult to practice corner kicks and other set plays. Let’s find 1000 people to give $1000 each and get it done. I’m in. Sure there would be matching grants. I’m sure the developers of those $500,000 homes next door to Belmont Central would provide land for a Little League field. Bet they would like to sell one of those homes. I guess a view of Belmont Central was not the best idea.
Did ya’ll see that Ginn boy at the JV football game on Monday? I’m thinkin he was a MANIAC!
